Another One Bites The Dust

Another month over, and another man gone. I guess that makes me older and wiser! Whateverso, I am looking forward to the summer and taking some time to myself.

The most eventful part of my month was definitely my baby sister's visit a few weekends back. I'm probably not the best tour guide, since I don't get out much, but nonetheless, it was productive. I took her shopping and to get her ears pierced (yea, at 21!). We also took in a show called Mystere by Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino and it was AWESOME! It's only the 3rd show I've been to in the 10 years I've lived in Las Vegas. But, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! Of course, visits from family are never long enough, as this one was. Nicole had to get back to Colorado to start looking for a job and start her new life in the "real world".

I am still hopeful that Trevor & his family will be able to visit this month, but unfortunately, with his wife's pregnancy, she's fragile and hasn't been feeling well. So, I may not get to see them this month, but I'm definitely praying Chrissy gets better and that they're able to take their vacation.

Cheers to a safe, productive & happy next month! God bless!

May 2008

Ok, so I'm not very good at this whole blogging thing, sorry. I don't have the most eventful life either, so I know I can't keep you entertained anyway, but I figured I was way due for an update, do here goes.

The supposed "wonderful" relationship from last fall ended before the holidays. But, I am happy and it was all for the better.

It's not been my best year yet, but I am determined to come out ahead in the end, somehow. I did start dating an old acquaintance in February, and am just enjoying that for now. We're taking things slowly, as it seems to work the best for not only me, but him too. He's a Las Vegas native with deep family ties and a good head. Neither of us are in a hurry as far as the relationship goes, so don't expect any grand updates anytime soon.

I'm just enjoying my job, going on 1 1/2 years now and grateful I even have one, as so many don't. Life is typically peaceful & quiet and I can never complain about that. I'm looking forward to a good summer and visits from family. Nicole is graduating Dental Hygiene School this month and then coming to visit just after her birthday. It's hard to believe my little sister is almost 21 years old! Since I have 12 years on her, that just makes me feel OLD! Trevor & his wife, Chrissy and their daughter Alana plan to visit in June and I can hardly wait. I always enjoy their company and I haven't seen anyone since Christmas, so I'm sure my niece is almost a young lady now (well, she probably thinks so, though she still has quite a ways to go, thank God!).

I have two family reunions this summer, but the way things have been going, it doesn't look like I'll be making it to either one. I am just hoping to make the trip to Colorado at Christmas to spend that time with my family.

Blessings for a wonderful summer!

Happy New Year!

Best wishes for a happy and safe New Year! I decided not to make a resolution this year, as I don't think I've ever really followed through with them, so as to not waste my time. I always just hope this one is better than the last.

I had a wonderful week in Colorado at Christmas with my beautiful family. I actually got to see everyone this visit and that was nice. It was especially sweet seeing my newest niece and seeing all 11 of the kids and how much they've grown. Seeing the oldest sure makes me feel old! I was glad to be home though, back to warmer weather and to peace and quiet. It's always fun for a little while, but I'm always grateful I can come home and get away from the chaos too. I do thank God every day for such a wonderful family.

December

Happy Holidays to you all. I hope you have a safe and merry season with those dear to you. God bless you all!

Another year gone by already! I can't believe it's almost Christmas! I spent last Christmas home alone in Vegas, because I had just started my job and didn't have the time off to spend it with family. This year I'm looking forward to a week off and spending every minute with my precious family in Colorado - freezing! Christmas just isn't Christmas without Mom's home-cooking and the kids around to make it feel special. Unfortunately, the gifts will be sparse from my end this year, but hopefully the quality time will make up for it. I did do a photo shoot for fun for pictures to give to family. Not so creative, but hey, I try. Chrissy, my sister-in-law (Trevor's wife) is coming up the week before Christmas to spend some "away" time with me and do some shopping. It will be nice to have some girl time. And, it will make the long drive to Colorado much more pleasant to have someone to talk to.

Thanksgiving

Just taking a moment to reflect and be thankful for all I have, rather than all that I don't. I usually seem to focus on everything I don't have, of course. I'm so grateful for the wonderful family I have. I'm fortunate to have my good health, a good job, and a reasonably good life, even if it's not what I had planned on.
